Squished about 8 last night, 4 or 5 were on the same plant and nearby plants were untouched? not sure whether it is taste colour or thickness of the leaves or what but some are targeted and some never get eaten....breeders take note and breed this in all of them ;D

I hate to think what I am going home to as far as the lilies are concerned. They were alive with lily beetle before I came away. I too find some are avoided and others are eaten to extinction.

I can just about cope with Lily beetles but this year I have another problem with my Lilies - some sort of leaf disease - it looks really awful and I just hope the flowers aren't going to be affected :( I don't seem to remember having anything like this before :(

Looks like one of a group of problems that are lumped under the general term 'Lily disease' Esther...have a look here

It does not say the flower is affected does it? It seems as if nothing can be done though. What a shame.

Thankyou for the link Steve :)

I have been taking off as many leaves as I can and the pots are in the borders so they are not quite as unsightly as they could be .I blame the weather >:(

You're probably right - it's affected so many plants, unfortunately. :(

I'm squishing red devils every day, and removing eggs and larvae too. I've lost count of the number, but it must be well over 50 up to now. :o

Shall I send you one, Sp? ;D My friend didn't believe they attack Fritillaries - so we went to look, and hey presto! A red devil on a flower. :-X ::)

I found two on my Crown Imperial Fritillarias today, they are the first I've seen, checked all my lillies but none on them yet, so I've been round with the Provado spray :)
