Grindle just sent me the link. The OH got up early for a car boot and rain has stopped play so he is bored, he has agreed to go, it is amazing what boredom can achieve (and the promise of me paying and a hog roast ) Today is turning out to be a great day, we are meeting Grindle there. coombetrenchardgardenfestival.2day.ws/

Loved it It wasn't huge and was set in the grounds of a lovely house. I took the camera and only remembered it as we were leaving. A few hurried shots. Met up with Grindle and encouraged her to buy more plants than she should have Grindle already had a number of plants when we arrived but was more than happy to do the rounds with us, she explained as we went that she wasn't going to buy any more. The second nursery was pond and marginals, the OH pointed to a pink iris he liked it, it would look good with the blue I already have and it was only £2 (Grindle bought one too). Then there was another fern, you can never have enough ferns Asplenium scopopendrium cristatum Cryptotaenia japonica f.atropurpurea. No one seemed to know much about this but as I'm a sucker for purple foliage it was a must (grindle got one too, so much for no more plants ) It wasn't too keen on being in a bag or the OH driving. I looked it up when we got back Perennial purple parsley. Good for dry shade. Leaves used raw in salads. Roots can be blanched and sauteed in oil.Lastly, I tried very, very, very hard not to buy this Colocasia but failed. Then we had a Hog Roast to die for ;D A leisurely drive back across Dartmoor completed the day.

Brilliant Colocasia 'Fontanesii' I think....? I just googled it and you are right. I seems a lot tougher than 'Black Magic', it looked like it would be, so I have high hopes for this one. I nearly didn't buy it but the £4.50 price tag swayed me ;D
