Even though after years it's eventually flowered I've decided to get rid of my Strelitzia. It's quite big and I wonder do you think it's worth selling, and how much?

Why wouldn't you just give it to a gardening friend, surely there must be someone you know who would love this ?

I wouldn't think there was much of a market for large second hand houseplants, but, you never know :/

You might want to think about e-Bay if you seriously want to sell it, Merlin, or your local paper.

I don't know anyone who wants it, I want nothing for it but it would cost to put it in the paper and we've had problems on ebay in the past and have been put off. I'll bet you wouldn't buy it at a GC for £20. I'll wait a little while longer, you never know.

Do you belong to Freecycle? I joined an hour ago and someone wants it already, she sounds extatic !! She's got a bargain as I've seen one for sale well into three figures! Do you know if I get points/credit that I can use?

yes merlin, the credit is that you have 'paid it forward' ;D there is likely to be something you may want or need in the future, that someone else may have spare - thats how freecycle/freeshare works

Do you know if I get points/credit that I can use? As it is all free so you don't need points or credit. You have made someone a very happy bunny, that is worth a lot If there is something you are looking for, it is worth while putting in a search, you will then get an email when it is listed.

Ooops! I've opened a new post on this but thanks for your help. I'll close the other. There are now 5 people wanting it and I really don't know which one to give it to. They all sound nice, I've replied to them all so perhaps I should just say first come first served. I've already told the first Lady she can have it and given all my details but as yet no reply.

i generally go by first come, first served merlin, but last time i offered something, it took three different people before someone had it, as some people can be quite ignorant and just not get back to you! its quite a good site though, overall i think, there are plenty of genuines on there to outweigh the others ;D
