Well though I was very sceptical when OH bought solar lights home, I have to admit that they're rather nice.

They look pretty on your shed. I've never wanted them but I might change my mind. You never know.....

The jury is still out on that one merlin, i think i prefer the other lighting that is showing off your garden very nicely.

At Christmas I drape tiny lights over the blue fir tree at the front. I live on a farm, not Luna Park.
I don't mind a few lights in the garden shining up the trunks of a special tree, showing up some pale colours in the border, etc.

I must admit I'm not one for lights in the garden, but I don't think they are too OTT

I think they look pretty but I'm undecided about lights in the garden, I like the look of them & think they're nice if you're sitting out in the evening entertaining etc. but I also worry that they're upsetting the wildlife/birds who would prefer it dark. The lighting Alan T. put in for the family on his show the other week looked lovely & a few lanterns always looks nice, we've got lights around the pond but I think I've only ever put them on once, don't even know if they still work! I have a solar 'bug house' by the back door which lights up in the evening & is supposed to attract moths (they ignore it) which has a very subtle glow. There is a house at the back of ours which has a garden that lights up like Blackpool illuminations every night, it's a bit much in a garden that's only about 28ftx15ft! ;D

I think OH wanted to create an 'ambiance' when sitting out late with candles and wine. She's more romantic than me lol Mother Goose has some and they look very nice.
