I was into B&M at the weekend and all their plants were reduced, so I bought 2 Gentians for 50p each, a tray of violas for £1, a Bergenia and a Day Lily also 50p each, bargains!!

I've ordered the Apricot Sorbet tulips from Sarah Raven's sale grindle, got a subscriber offer code from G.World mag., first 250 to order got a free diary & p&p for only £2.50 but you had to order a non sale item as well so I ordered a pack of Cosmos 'Candy Stripe' seeds.

just before Christmas I ordered some seeds off ebay, cucamelon, a compact cucumber, chrystal apple, toms and sweetpeas, all at 99p pkt what great value, they arrived while I was away and I have to say they are really worth buying, loads of seeds to a packet and in sealed foil. Have a look at the site www.premierseedsdirect.com/ definately will use them again

My latest plant purchase, received yesterday, is Hydrangea Love. Flowers on new and old wood. Will plant it with salvia patens Cambridge in the spring. still in the xmas gift giving zone......gift giving to me, that is .....I have ordered another hydrangea viz., Paniculata Bombshell, a very compact variety.

I'd better look that Hydrangea you just bought up if it's a compact variety, then I could do with a smaller version to 'even out' one of my borders. I spent my Christmas money on a waterproof coat to save me from garden soakings, and some plants from eBay, which can always be a bit hit or miss. So we'll have to see what turns up. Cytisus' 'Lena' and 'Albus,' and Lavatera 'Burgundy Wine.' And I got two little primroses from the country store today, I needed a bit of colour

I got a lot of bargain fruit bushes from Thompson and morgans recently 3X gooseberrys 3 blackcurrant , and 12 raspberries . They are all cosy in a tub in the greehouse , just hope the don`t die from "over mothering" Also got lots and lots of bulbs they are still unplanted been very busy

Yes Bess, Bombshell is supposedly the dwarfest and longest flowering hydrangea. concerning ebay, I was initially reluctant to buy plants from ebay but I am now very comfident about it. Most everything I bought has been excellent and good value. Lena is my favourite broom so I think you will be pleased.
