I went to the Downham Market Country Market (which is just a name really) today and bought Camellia ‘Debbie’. It has been grown hard and has 15 buds on it, so it should be a good shrub. However, today is really windy here, even though it is 11 deg. It’s is sunny, so I will stuff the pot at the back in the shelter of some other plants.

Bought a photinia Little Red Robin which only grows about 3' or so. It and its offspring will be used to go outside the window when the current shrubs are removed as they are too tall and block the view.

We went to Dunham Massey hall garden yesterday & I ended up buying two little pots of iris - 'Sheila Ann Germany' & 'Katherine's Gold' (looks a bit delicate & more creamy yellow than the pic. shows), very pretty.

I have located a nursery that sells KATHERINE HODGKIN (Pale Blue colour) and, GEORGE (Violet colour) both $12 per bulb.

That seems quite expensive keith but maybe they're more common over here, mine were £4 for a pot of 4 or 5 bulbs & you can get them cheaper. I've got both of those varieties (Katherine Hodgkin & George) as well although the 'George' ones haven't appeared yet this year. I love the little early iris reticulata flowers but some of mine get beheaded by birds/slugs/cutworms etc. so I've put these new ones in pots topped with grit near the patio doors so I can appreciate them close up.

love the early iris, I've tried growing them in the borders, but they don't come back, last years went in a big pot and they're all flowering again, so it looks like that's the way to go with them

6 Double Replete. 5 Ice Follies. 5 Double mixed. 13 Mini, Spring Sunshine, Tete Tete, Hoop Petticoat Yellow and, Neon
Except for the Mini's I will mix them up and plant in patches, well that is the plan. I will have to wait for the Dahlias to finish flowering.

I bought a Debbie too, also Camellia April Remembered, my friend reduced them for me as they were last years plants. Oh a Sinensis and a Lily flowered Camellia too. This is to replace the one's the mice destroyed. I've taken some cuttings off the destroyed one. Hopefully they will root.
