My lawn doesn't seem to be growing too much yet, although I have thought about cutting it soon whilst it's not too long, especially if I can get it dry enough first. That is the problem of course and why I took advantage of the sun and drying wind today. just watch out for the sub zero temperatures being forecast as well.

Still too soggy to think about mowing here yet but our lawn isn't very long either & some of the crocuses I planted in the edges are starting to show through.

I took some of my Fuchsias down to a perspex shelter. They are starting to sprout now. I hope the cold weather that's been forecast doesn't harm them.

tidied a couple of borders, weeded and put compost down, planted out some primulas and iris to go with the crocus, it's a start

Garden too wet to do much apart from making a start on rose pruning...waiting for some new loppers before tackling the thicker stems..

yesterday dug over part of veg patch and cleared some brambles then came in to defrost. Today all I've done so far is to empty the ice on the bird baths and replenish the water. Will probably get on with some more later as have other stuff to do first.

fed the birds, looked at the garden then went to the nursery in Bodmin ( steve if you're down this way, and haven't been, Bodmin Nursery is a great place to visit, doesn't look much from the car park, but don't be deceived )

I'll keep that in mind thanks grindle we have had visits to Newquay, Ilfracombe, Par and Eden project in the past but getting idle in my old age now it's easier to get a taxi to the airport sit on a plane and a transfer to resort then sit in the sun and collect some palm seeds and plant cuttings bit more expensive though and of course I don't bring any plant material home

I've been wielding my new loppers today, and am very impressed with the way they cut through thick rose stems, like butter

When I lived in Devon I seem to remember a big nursery on the Exeter bypass but can't recall the name. of course it may have changed as this was back in the '60s early '70s
