Monty Don does nothing to inspire, in fact I find him quite boring at times I think so too, and he has such a drab personality
Today I vacuumed dead leaves from the front garden, and put up some wire to stop a dog using it as a toilet.

my new pond pump is rubbish, had to have a new impeller at the end of May, then yesterday cleaned it and the same thing had happened, took it back to the GC and they replaced it with a new one (different make) got it home ready to fit in and found it's only good as a fountain and not the duel use to run the filter box, so now I have to go back again this morning (36 mile round trip)

I lifted some Charlotte potatoes from a container for tea, watered all the baskets & everything inside the greenhouse & planted out the 'bargain' plants I got at the weekend to fill a few gaps in pots etc., this is them before planting ( I didn't leave the dahlia in that particular pot):-

Lovely plants SueA
Today I did some cutting back of overgrown shrubs and Clematises, and did some dead heading. Everything seems to have gone wild this month. I also gave my Fuchsias Tomatoes Peppers and Cucumbers a liquid feed. I have put the Fuchsias in a polytunnel in case the rain washes the feed away tomorrow. I was going to water my cacti but didn't do it after all. They'll be all right until I get around to it.

Home again after five days in Hospital to have two Skin Cancers removed (not the big C). Only indoor gardening permitted for until the Dr gives me the all OK to work outside.

Good to hear you're home keith, at least it's not the busiest gardening time of year over there so you should be able to relax while you're recovering. All I did yesterday was water in the greenhouse & the hanging baskets again, put a couple of foliage plants I found into gaps in 2 hanging baskets & picked the first Beefsteak tomato, it was an ugly looking thing with a split in the skin & a green lump on it but it was ripe & tasted lovely in a salad chopped up with homegrown cucumber & red onion.

Got the borders at the front weeded yesterday, and trimmed the lavender hedge; it flowered early this year and is now looking very drab. The back garden got waterlogged with all the downpours a few days ago and I think some plants have drowned; I'll wait a few days before deciding if they need to be lifted. Concentrating on dead heading the pots and watering in the greenhouse. I've been getting a good crop from some aubergine plants; can't remember the name but they are the tiny fruits and they are lovely roasted with other veg.

Wet most of the day here too. All I've done outside is empty a few bowls and saucers that had plants standing or rather swimming in them!
