I am always suspicious about these offers - the plants are usually in 9cm pots - how long would that take to get to flowering size at the rate Magnolias grow? I even saw one in a 7cm pot in one advert!

Thanks Rosie, I get their newsletters but hadn't spotted this so I've ordered it now, £3.96 including p&p is very good & it comes on a 52" stem so should look good in a large pot.

Who us? ;D ;D I lose so many plants due to weather, pests etc. that I don't like to spend too much on something which might pop it's clogs, I don't feel so bad if I only pay post & packing on them though & I get to try things out to see if they like my garden!

I forgot I meant to ask you Rosie, did you receive your magnolia? I got a letter from them last week saying they wouldn't be able to supply mine at the moment but it will be sent- next February!

Don't go and forget about it, SueA, I bet they took your p&p money. I think they have Geranium, we'll have to remind each other Rosie , I suppose they must have run out of stock & that's when the next season's deliveries are due in.

Did you get yours Rosie ? I realised that the magnolia which arrived the other week was in fact the standard one from this offer as the magnolia 'Sunrise' I'd sent for arrived the other day as well. The 1p standard one looks fine - bare root, a long stem with branches & a few buds, both are in pots now.
