Are Cyclamen supposed to come back each year? as mine flowered over winter and have now died away. They don't look too good . The two hardy cyclamen are C. hederifolium (late autumn flowering) and C. coum ( winter flowering). The ones you get for bedding or containers aren't hardy and don't last through the winter. The hardy ones should be named. They're best bought in pots and planted out, rather than as dry corms.

Mine are all grown from seed and I still have the original very large corm which is 25 years old. When I started growing them the seeds were very expensive and there were only about four seeds in the packet. They are very much cheaper now, but mine seed and grow into the lawn area too.

My C. hederifolium do, Cherry, but the C. coum ones are proving more difficult to get going. I'd love it if they'd oblige me by seeding themselves - the space is there!

Wow! Why is mine lagging behind? I couldn't see any signs of growth yesterday. It hasn't got to a flowering size yet. I am trying to be patient.
