Helllloooo
You may recognise me as a newbie as I only registered to your site within the past couple of days I seem to be the only person on the forum at the moment, which is strangely eerie lol. I just hit a quiet spell in work and thought I'd check out the forum with my afternoon cuppa in hand.
I just thought I would start a new thread about my back yard which is being given a new lease of life. Basically it's fairly small and it's concrete so container growing is the only way for me. There is also a possibility of moving house in a few years time so containers can be easier brought with us
I have a craft shed in one corner of our yard and another shed where our cute wee dog sleeps in the other corner so space is minimal. In between the sheds is the path to the back gate. Each side of the path against the gavel of each shed I have large pots with autumn bliss, polka and (I think) malling promise raspberries, 1 Berkely, 1 Bluecrop and 3 Herbert blueberries, 1 Yellow Hinnonmaki gooseberry, 1 thornless evergreen blackberry, 1 blackcurrant and 2 black amber plum 'trees' growing. I've only started so none are fruiting, and I'm not certain any will fruit this year as most are bare canes at the moment, 3 of the blueberries and the gooseberry are meant to fruit this year I think.
I've strawberries planted in hanging baskets: Elsanta, Honeoye, Malwina and Cambridge favourites. I may have soaked 3 types of them too long though so I'm not sure if I've killed them or not.
On my windowsills and small bell pots I also have cauliflower, cabbage, rocket salad, mixed baby leaf salad, lavender and butterhead lettuce planted
Any hints and tips are well appreciated. Thanks for reading

I wouldn't call mine an allotment as such, it's not what I visualise an allotment to be anyway, I will take photos tonight and upload them soon. Nothing is doing very much out there at the moment, a lot of small things happening and a lot I hope happening under the surface

You are growing some very nice varieties, and advice will come flooding in. Yes, it can be quiet, but answers to requests come quickly which I think is very good. I always want to know now, not later. You make me feel ashamed that I have left jobs undone while I have been busy. I must get on and plant my blueberries as the soil here is ok for them. You mentioned size of pots somewhere, Tel and daitheplant are great at measuring the right plant to the right pot. It was probably on the 'welcome' page.

I've only been at this a couple of weeks Cherry, it takes a lot of time really for it all to come together, and with working daytime its tough, often there's not enough hours in the day when I'm feeling awake enough to motivate myself. What blueberries do you have Cherry? Hopefully Tel or Daitheplant will be able to help me decide on my pots

I have had a blueberry in a 45cms pot, for 4 years now. Your blueberries are young plants, if they are in 9cm pots. I would repot them into 15cm pots until the grow a bit before repotting into their permanent pots.

I agree with Tel, pot them on gradually, and remember the first rule of gardening, Be Patient.

Hopefully Tel or Daitheplant will be able to help me decide on my pots I can't remember, but two of them are pinkberry or pink lemonade or similar and I would need to find labels for the others. One was put in the wrong garden last year as I thought it was a shrub. I am just leaving it there as it is happy.

I am a here and now kind of person who keeps lists and likes to know when where and how. This is teaching me patience at a completely new level lol.

Sounds good KC. If they are growing outside though, be prepared to protect them if the temperature drops.
