What camera are you currently using Steve? just treated myself to a Nikon bridge It's a Panasonic Lumix tz20 Great for macro shots, quite good all-rounder though. I've got a Panasonic TZ6 Fractal , nowhere near as good at macro as your TZ20 though, I keep meaning to get a new camera so I'll have a look at the TZ20. I've been fancying the Samsung WB350F brown retro-look one too which I think has a bigger zoom, I'm trying to get the best of both worlds but do love your macro shots.

Yeah, that sounds a good balance and all rounder. I'd get that Samsung. Always good if you can get impartial advice on this though. I'm certainly no expert plus new models are always coming out. It's a minefield!

I know Fractal, I've been planning to get a new camera for about 3 or 4 years now & keep changing my mind! Hyacinths & muscari looking pretty on the table outside in the sun. The typewriter in the background is an old one we bought years ago, I used to use it when we first got it but now it's just quietly rusting as a decorative plant holder!

Those Muscari are pretty SueA. Mine are just coming into bud. I like the way you've used that typewriter I've got one the same, that belonged to my father. It's in the attic, but I think I'll bring it down and use it like you've done. (I hope you don't mind if I 'copy' you )

Ours was in the attic too @hywel at our old house & we thought we might as well use it, if you don't want yours to go rusty as it's a family heirloom you could bring it inside in winter, we're not worried about ours & have left it out all the time as it looks good & will age gradually. My O.H. has hung an old camera from the chair that it's on & calls it the 'journalist's corner'now!

Here's one of the rare plants I found at Wells on Saturday. Synthris missurica var. stellataI bought two small pots of this Fritillary - that was all they had. Viola odorata 'Mrs R. Barton'.

Like the Synthris Geranium. I have a tub of those Fritillary; I can see them better than if they were in the ground.

I've planted some muscari bulbs in the front garden too which are coming out now, can't remember if they were all blue ones though, will have to check.

I tried to grow those fritillaries in our old garden Geranium but they disappeared, normal snakeshead ones did fine though, perhaps I should try some in pots like Lou78W has.

Those white violets are just beautiful, Geranium, I am going plant searching apparently tortoises can eat violets so I have a perfectly legit excuse to get some!
