I have three Rudbeckia 'Summerina' this year - this is the yellow one. One of the others... I must get a photo of the third one.

At first glance, I thought these were sunflowers which I like. They are pretty and autumnal looking.

Lovely pics. peony , I'll look out for that aster! SueA, mine has spread too far and is encroaching on other plants so I shall be doing some dividing when its finished flowering, I can send you a couple of the divisions, it would be the ideal time for planting them. Send me a pm if you would like some

peony , How does the Eupatorium 'behave' in your garden. I've never seen it grown in a garden before - only wild in hedgerows. Is yours a cultivated form ?

Is yours a cultivated form ? @hywel, I bought it a few years ago as a bare root plant (in a packet) from somewhere like B&Q, it was just labelled Eupatorium purpureum. I'd seen it growing when I visited Barnsdale (Geoff Hamilton's garden) and liked it because it was attracting so many bees. Mine grows in semi-shade and has gradually over 4 years spread to quite a large clump which I shall probably have to divide soon. I deadhead it when it has finished flowering so I don't know whether it would seed around

It's nice to know the Eupatirium has remained in one clump peony. I thought it might have run wild. I like to see it in the hedgerows. Sometimes there are swathes of it

Sometimes when a fresh fuchsia flower snaps off, I put it in water upside down. I think they look pretty

I saw it in a book Cherry. There were also photos of some with floating candles in amongst the fuchsias. Very pretty And it's better than throwing the flowers away ...
