It's hard to tell which is which seed grindle, at least it was for me & I tipped the 'dust' into a pot with a bit of compost as well just in case I'd missed any of the seeds. Wonder if ziggy's got hers yet?

SueA judging by your pics I reckon the ones you have that have germinated are alder and rowan... let me snap a pic of some of my recent rowan seedlings so that you know what they look like as toddlers..

Yes grindle, the dog rose & rowan pics. look virtually the same & they don't give you an idea of the size, I thought the large dark seeds with the little yellow shoots were the alder until I saw the tiny black seeds so I labelled them 'Holly or alder' & hopefully will be able to tell when they start to form leaves - if I get them that far!

Also, here are some rowan seeds for size idea. You may be able to figure out which ones they are from this pic of my hand and some seeds?

It's really easy. Promise! Although I pretreated my previous rowan tree seeds in the fridge but maybe they've already been out in the cold if they are arriving in the post half germinated..?
