Thanks Eli , some of them only have one or two blooms out so far & I think there are about 8 other bushes still to flower but I can't resist them even though some of them do get blackspot, aphids etc.

It's appearing on some of mine as well grindle, I keep going round pulling off the affected leaves but some varieties seem more resistant than others. The warm damp weather doesn't help but it's been so dry recently that it's not been as bad as usual yet.

this is not a good area for rose growing as there's too much damp air, great for ferns though

This rose was given to me in memory of my parents, by their neighbour's daughter-in-law, because they were so kind to her mother- and father-in-law when they were old and disabled.
It's called Gentle Hermione.

Is that a Baptisia grindle ? I sent for some seeds this year. I'll be sowing them soon.

The followers are cute Love the irises as well. Tinypic is eventually talking to me again. I took these before the storm too - I'm afraid those plants are distinctly less upright now I love these little alpine thingies. The just keep going. Beautiful roses, everyone i'm looking out for a peachy/orangey one for my front lawn. Can anyone recommend a really tough one?
