No, I don't mean food or drink!
I've got Mealy Primrose Primula pulverulenta stratifying in mine, I hope it works.
Got any seeds in your fridge?

I tried seeds in the fridge many years ago. I can't remember what the result was. Good Luck !

The last garden related item I had in my fridge @willow was a pack of vine weevil neutralising nematodes a few weeks ago! O.H. wasn't keen on them sitting next to the cheese! I tried blue meconopsis seeds in the fridge years ago, it worked but the plants still got eaten by slugs when I planted them out. ziggy on here usually has a fridge full of various tree seeds & she seems to have a lot of success.

Sweetpea seeds kept in a domestic FREEZER normally stay viable for upward of seven years. not to sure about other species.

That's interesting sweetpea. My hubby isn't too happy that my seed tray is taking up beer cooling space.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I commented or posted around here. My tapatalk went funny on the phone so now I am back to using a PC. I have always got a bunch of seeds going in the fridge. I had some new germinators lately - black tupelo, red barked dogwood, prunus serrula, bird cherry and comfrey. Hopefully they will grow well. I have had lots of luck with different seeds but I've had troubles with acer, dahurian larch and wild cherry - only one acer has ever germinated for me and the other two are also being stubborn.

Not all of them @willow - mostly just my tree seeds and then anything that says so on the packet (like the comfrey). I get mostly good results but the odd packet have been disappointing. I started off expecting nothing to work but then ended up with hundreds of tree seedlings! I've had success with a good few varieties. If you're interested these are some that have germinated for me in the fridge: birch (Ermans, silver, paper and himalayan - loads of all of these), oak (red, pin, live, turkey, cork, English), bird cherry (but wild cherry not so much), peach, apricot, pine, nordmann fir, white fir, rowan, yew (but not a great germination rate), brewer's spruce, monterrey cypress, juniper (loads and loads of them), eastern redbud, red barked dogwood, lace barked pine, swamp cypress, hazel (but not many), almond, black tupelo, acer (but only one germinated), whitebeam, judas tree, gingkgo biloba, purple berberis and comfrey. I may have forgotten some but a lot has passed through my fridge in the last year!

Ah no, @willow. Just for fun at the moment, although I may look into it one day. I'm going to plant a forest garden soon in one of our fields. I think it will be a long term project.

A forest garden, I like the sound of that. I've got a Forest Pansy in my garden, it's just a youngster.
