I will go one better Lou. On a recount, I have seven shoots. Because I am now in love with Roscoea, I bought another one at Wisley plant shop today. It is a purple Roscoea humeana with nine shoots and a lot of flowers. I must take a photo. It is nearly the same colour as the Cortusa, so for once I can get a design feature right and plant them near one another. I notice the flower buds arriving on the original plant now.

Actually, I have just come back to this to say if you can see, say six shoots just now, there will be another one or two lurking just under the soil ready to surprise you.
