I wonder how the colour will look with some potash Tel. Definitely worth a second flush. Nice for the garden at the very least. It's a nice sugar pink.

ian does potash not also improve colour? Or is it mainly used for stem strength .

Tell that Collerette looks a lot better a neat bloom with a neat collar, 9 petals not a fault unless you show some with nine petals and eight petals in the same exhibit, the ideal asks for eight. Nice bloom

Nice bloom Cheers ian it showed a few last season with 9 but settled down to the norm 8 later on. See how it goes this season, then maybe throw it in the trials, in its 4th year next season.

I tend to use approx. two teaspoons for a 2 gal watering can, you can apply it now as you are feeding (two pints per plant) and one just before you start to select and secure your buds (again with your feed)this will give it time to get into the system. The first lot will help with any magnesium deficiencies there may be (shown with some yellowing of some leaves. It is well worth applying. If you have made a comfrey still and extracted the lovely smelly juice you can also use that in with the feed (I use approx 5 fluid oz per watering can)

The best of the bunch so far, the colour looks a bit wishy washy, to me. free uploader The thing with the epsom salts / potash or other boosters it's only worth doing if you are happy with the bloom itself, after all nobody would want to colour boost everytime they saw a bloom. So what do you think Tel, is it good enough for a 2nd season? It's a big deal if potentially you might give it your prefix. I'll be very interested in what you decide.

I am not suggesting you use it for you seedlings in the first year or three, but I hope Tel does not mind the seedling Collerette Tel showed the pale pink /lilac was streaky and would certainly benefit from the Epsom salts.
As would nearly all the Mary's Jomanda grown for show in the main it is streaky as anything. I said nearly all so don't get upset now
