Doesn't appear to be in any pin or distress @hywel in fact his nose is working perfectly well as when I was cutting up the chicken for dinner tonight he came straight over before I'd even started.  he has been on insulin jabs two a day for some time now and also blood pressure pills. As being diabetic we think his recent episode was a sugar drop but we got some down him and at the moment he seems to be just tired mainly. We are well aware his time is running out but that's something to face later, much later hopefully. |

Bertie gets very intrigued when you point a camera at him   Timmy, however, Is Not Amused.  They're just over one year old now. Only another 119 years to go lol. |

They will hopefully hibernate next year, Cherry we kept them awake this year as Bertie had such bad pneumonia in September, and it took him ages to get over it. He still gets a bit choked up on times, and tortoises need to be in good health to get through hibernation. Also when they're that small it doesn't affect them if they don't hibernate for a couple of years. |

I remember one of my garden customers had a tortoise which they thought was a male until it laid an egg. |
