When I was at Morrisons yesterday, there were four large cell trays of cyclamen for £3. The quality was excellent and there were loads of buds on each plant. These would last well into autumn and possibly come up next year as mine did. When they were over, I put them in the garden.

In Robin Lane Fox's (LF) gardening article today, he reports on a visit to T&M at Ipswich where he learned from one of their experts that 'an incurable downy mildew has spread in the soil and has started to attack Busy Lizzies and nobody knows a cure. So T&M predict impatiens will have to be dropped by responsible nurserymen'.
According to LF breeders aim to replace it with with a hybrid called SunPatiens, which LF didn't think much of!

That is interesting Peony In Garden News this week there is a pic of T & M's busy lizzie 'wall' - the busy lizzies have died I love sunpatiens but it is not suitable as an edging in a bedding scheme - lovely in pots though i am going to take as many cuttings from mine as I can ;D

My Busy Lizzies in one area of the garden have now all died, but the ones at the other side are fine at the moment. I expect they'll go soon if the fungal spores are air borne.
