Can anyone please tell me what is wrong with this Dorothy Perkins Rose ? Several of the branches have got brown crinkled up leaves, and the tips have gone limp and black.

Thanks. That might be what's happened. I was pruning around there a while ago. I hope that's it anyway. I'll have a look tomorrow. I do tend to panic and think the worst lol

Uh-oh, Hywel - too fierce with your secateurs, were you? I bet that's the answer.

It's drizzling here and the wind has picked up. I could do with the heating on!

I have the gas fire on. The place felt damp. We put the heating on Tuesday night. If this is what it's like now I hate to think of what's to come I shall bury my head in the sand for now I think

I do tend to panic and think the worst lol Was it from some pruning Hywel? If not is there any powdery fungus on it, I was reading up on various roses as you know for something to grow up my obelisk & dismissed Dorothy Perkins as it wasn't very scented & was said to be prone to diseases especially powdery mildew which if it was bad enough could have caused the leaves to brown up & crinkle like those in your photo.

I have all the windows open and have just shut the back door. We are in tee shirts too. Well I am wearing shorts today aswell - although it's drizzling it feels quite warm. I don't mind that SueA It was because I had cut through the branch. I did it to several of them but didn't remov e them all. The border is very thickly grown and I must have missed them. Yes Dorothy Perkins does get mildew sometimes. In my previous garden it was bad but up here she's had none at all. I wonder why ......
