They're a menace here They're horribly territorial and see off all the tits and the finches so i have to feed the robins in a separate part of the garden

There's no finches for our Robins to see off here. We used to have Green and Chaffinches as well as a few Robbins. Hope we see them soon.

Our robin is back too, it's been around for a week or so & was singing in the tree this morning. Yesterday when I was clearing the old veg. patch out I turned round & it was right beside me watching & then hopped up on to the birdbath for a drink.

Did you ask it where it has been?

I was thinking of you when I wrote this Louise. You are bound to know, where do the robins go in the summer? Do they stay around?

I don't think they move on but don't know for certain, i'm sure i've seen adults and young buzzing around here all year - i've seen an adult darting around the feeders over in the Rowan recently so they must be starting to appear again.

I think if your Robins disappear during the summer it is because they are nesting elsewhere. Female Robins will migrate for the winter but the male robins remain here. During July and August they moult and tend to hide away during this time.

I think that's what happens here, they don't seem to nest in our garden in the spring & summer but we regularly see one out of the breeding season. I think this one must be one who has been here before it's a lovely brightly coloured male & very confident. We also had 3 bluetits, 3 coal tits & 2 goldcrests in the garden together yesterday morning, they seemed to be going around in a little gang as they all arrived together, flitted in & out of the trees & left together, the blue tits looked like youngsters so maybe they were all sticking together for protection.

We had one following the digger around the garden, you can always tell a robins song above other birds
