It'll soon grow, Cherry - they romp away once their roots are down.

This is Tropaeolum speciosum (Flame Creeper). We have it growing in the hedges at work. It frequently produces masses of these blue "berries" on the thickened red calyx.

I can't get it to grow here, sadly. It managed a few flowers last year, but hasn't reappeared this year. I loved it at Sissinghurst - they grow it through yew trees there.

The first time I ever saw this plant it was growing through the yew topiary at Levens Hall in Cumbria and it was spectacular but sadly I cannot seem to get it to grow in my garden. I have bought plants and have tried from seed but I lose it every time.

I am resisting this plant because the weather here is so dry, although the soil is ideal for it. However, if I think again, I could put it where it gets watered and it could still be supported by the hedge.
