Oh dear..why's that?.....you probably did better than you think The owner had issues with me living 2 buss rides away, he seamed to think i wouldn't get to work on time. Plus i messed up , i was at first being interviewed by the manager i was ok at that point, then the owner came in interrupted the interview and started talking over my CV & Puppy reference sheets (Id taken them with me) my attention was drawn away from the questions half of them got skipped, some were half completed and others i just messed up . OH well plus i found out it wasn't the job i thought, i wanted to go into animal care, the job (I wasn't told the job description before i arrived BTW) was for a target based sales person to work with the supplier's. In other words the supplier's would tell me what i had to sell and how many for what price each week, not the kind of job id be suited for too much stress.

I'm sorry it didn't go well, but you might not have enjoyed the work by the sound of it - if it wasn't the job for you, then keep looking, and chin up!

If you are easily stressed, the pressure of achieving targets of selling each week is not for you. they should have made it clear what the job entailed before hand.

I agree with Tel. That was bad of them. Sorry it wasn't what you thought. That sort of thing wouldn't be for me either. Don't fret about it. Maybe something else will turn up.

They do have paid jobs at the animal shelters. They are not all voluntary. It could be worth asking.

They do have paid jobs at the animal shelters. They are not all voluntary. It could be worth asking. I'm not sure i could do that work either i don't think id hack all the sad story's and sick/neglected animals . All i would do is cry all day and id want to take them all home with me.

Thats bad that the job wasn't properly described to you. i hated the stress of showrooms when i worked for B&Q, i liked the job but the pressure put on you by management was bad, if the store needed to achieve the target all the pressure was on showrooms as it was high value sales.

It annoys me when companies don't give out full job descriptions to interviewees BEFORE the interview......it saves wasting a job hunters time as well as their own. Please don't give up looking Floydie.....put today down as "a practice run". I' m sure something that suits you will turn up..but don't settle for second best. Chin up!!

That is a shame Floydie - I know what you mean about stress in a job. I was employed to work in the garden centre - houseplants mainly- but every time a new Manager started at the store he would make everyone have till training - my worst nightmare would be to be faced with a queue of customers. I can remember getting very upset on a couple of occasions. Then there were the store cards - we were told we had to get talking to customers to try and pursuade them to have a store card - er sorry - no way! The store had a target to get each week. I am sure something suitable will turn up for you Floydie - don't stop looking When the right job comes along it will do wonders for your confidence believe me ;D
