I've been given this seed pod and told that it comes from a climbing plant with a pink/purple pea type flower. Although the photo doesn't show it very well, the pod is a dark purple colour. I've looked on the internet and I think it might be Lablab (Dolichos purpureus) but I'm not sure and wondered whether any of you have grown it?  |

Hyacinth bean  Ive got pink and purple seeds to grow next year. Apparently you can eat the beans if cooked right if not they are poisonous. |

Not sure i would , Ive just had a quick read up on the net, the way to cook them is to boil with the lid off for a long time and keep changing the water, also discarding the water when serving. Think I'll just enjoy them as a decorative vine . |

I grew some this year but they didn't flower  They were in a pot - in good light and grew to about 6' - but no flowers  I will try again |
