Make it a good NZ Sauvignon Blanc and I might be tempted to join Beer Corner. I get the good one by simply refusing to drink copies from Chile and elsewhere. Have you tried the wines from Shawsgate vineyard in Suffolk? I haven't even heard of them Steve2, but as you mention this, you must recommend this brand. All local wines seem to be expensive, which is understandable. My husband did a tour of a Cambridgeshire vineyard with a Flying Farmers tour. He could not taste as he flew there. I bought a lot of NZ Nobilo S.Blanc at Morrisons for £4.45, but that offer has run out as I knew it would. I put it in the attic for my daughter's visit from Australia at the end of the month.

Its a shame that British wines don't get the recognition they deserve. There are some good ones (and there's some balsamic ones!!) We used to buy the Muller Thurgau 91,92, from the previous owners of the vineyard. The prices are higher now, back then (early 00s) we paid 4.50 a bottle.

Lifting the latch on the door of the pub You can also have a bishops finger Tel Yep with your sixpence, enough to buy a pint. Then hope your mates are in to buy you another 2 or 3 pints.

I had half a pint of Chocolate & Cherry ale from the nearby Dunham brewery at our local Summer Show in the park yesterday, quite nice, tasted a bit almondy too so it was a bit like drinking a bakewell slice! Had a taste of one called Summer Meadow as well which was quite light & refreshing. I don't like them when they're sold in bottles at all but these were from casks so were a lot better apart from being a bit flat & warm as it was very sunny!

steve did you really drink 9 pints of real ale? Jeremy is here from Australia and is enjoying the different beers. He always has a different one and tries not to have the same one twice.
