The cost of a Dog is high but I fear that there are 'other' reasons why they go missing.

Its mostly pedigrees (small toys mostly) that go missing around here. Worrying isn't it! A lady not far from me had her 2 chihuahuas stolen last year she's still trying to find them

If dogs are kept close by and out of the way of harm it will make them a harder target. (don't just let them run free on the streets or leave them out in the garden unsupervised).

Shes lovely ;D. Mine follow me around like lost lambs

so they never go far from site. (apart from Rolo who will run off given the chance

so we do have to keep an eye on him!) I doubt anyone would want to steal such a manky old dog anyway

All over the uk, they are stolen to order! Small pedigree dogs are popular ATM these are the ones most at risk

I often feel like doing that when both dogs are barking. They always wait until I get into the shower or bath and then they start. Brats.

I would use Jeremy Clarkson's remedy on these people and not joking. Far too much animal cruelty in this so called civilised society.
