It's the first time we have supported them like that, it was really windy and they were getting bashed about and needed to do something quickly so put up the old pea chicken wire which seemed to work so got some more and voila! Have another show in two weeks then two shows in three weeks so are cutting all flowers this weekend to encourage more to come could have done with a dhow this weekend

The varieties we have are sir alf, daleko Jupiter, kenora challenger, ryecroft rebel, Ruskin bride, Brenda t, Ruskin Myra, marys jomanda, blyton softer gleam, hillcrest candy, hillcrest royal, summer night, moorplace, small world and aurwens violet. I think that's it next year I'm getting rid of the poms and probably Ruskin bride as the kenora challenger is better for us and we only have it as it was a freebie from Halls. People down the allotment seem to think we are barmy as we have all the dahlias and then the other side of the greenhouse there's over 100 chrysanthemum plants in buckets a lot with bags over the flowers to protect them, we do get some strange looks!

I can understand you discarding the pom Smallworld, but why are you dropping Moorplace, it still one of the popular ones at local shows.

If I end up keeping any it would be moorplace , I really don't like the poms that much and wanted the space for something else. They are ok to do a vase at a show but can't cut them and put in a vase if no shows. Still it may be useful to keep one so I can enter to make up a class at the local show and also if need another type for a championship class

Been doing some more tying up on the 170 not covered today seen as stong winds are being forecast. My first show is a week today, since I put my covers on everything as began to get a move on and where as I thought I might not make this show I think I will be able to cut a few.It looks like it will be leopold chloe, joan walker, oakwood goldcrest and blyton softer gleam and maybe some ruskin michelle and jomanda.I have some ruskin harmony about ready too but they are outside so I will just have to see what the weather does.My mini decs have began to catch up I just hope its not to late as I was wanting to have a crack at the mini dec championship class at harrogate but we will just have to wait and see I will know better next weekend.
