Les, the water that's in there won't melt, i've poured boiling water onto it and nothing, tried chipping it out and it's too solid a block.

Cherry, i've put down glass dishes of water but they aren't being used, i don't have any other suitable containers

The temps are actually rising now and it's the warmerst it's been all day - as i mentioned earlier, the temps are rising through the night and staying up for a few days then.
