i did a lengthy post here earlier bu got cut off again.
Anyway I have moved the router to another telephone socket, one which I was told NOT to use and now the PC is running well.
Odd though cos I tried this socket once before and got nothing.
telecomms! Bah! Think I'll stick to gardening. ;D

Only thing with using this socket is the cable is a bit short and is suspended through the doorway so is just a temporary measure.
bet I trip over it sometime

I'll get around to it eventually
