Thanks again, we've been transplanting some greens today and hubby was working on a pvc trellis that we were going to put up against the walls for the cukes and toms.

I was sent this picture on email, it looks very interesting. Strawberries grown in hydro in israel, the plants are grown in pipes 5 - 6 feet off the ground and the berries then hang downwards for easy picking ;D I'm going to try this method of growing em.

You will be looking for profits soon Jrae.
We grew strawberries in Victoria and I picked them in bare feet because of all the water. The Italians up the mountain grew strawberries too, but I haven't seen strawberries grow in the tropics.

Glad you pointed that out jrae, I thought the picture was upside down! ;D That's a clever idea & less back-breaking to pick them I imagine.

Strawberries are grown up north in the Benguet highlands. Higher elevation than our area and much lower temps even in summer. It stays below 18C there all year but where we are if we're lucky we stay below 30C in summer, down in the city is much worse. I'll just try growing strawberries for fun and to see what problems I run into. ;D Another me try it out project that I guess hubby would go when I tell him to help me set it up.
