I've just received a catalogue from Dobies listing drought tolerant plants and this is one of their suggestions. 'Twilight Prairieblues' looks pretty and as its a member of the pea family (which do well in my garden) I thought I might give it a try, but its a bit expensive, so I wondered whether any of you grow this?

I quite like it. I saw it in the Cambridge Botanic last June. It is quite tall and possibly a bit coarse.

Definitely. It is different too. When I saw it at Cambridge it made me stop to look at it.

I managed to raise a couple of plants from seed last year Peony. Mine are Baptisia australis Caspian Blue False Indigo. I still have a few seeds left if you would like to try them. The packet says they are "Hardy Exotics"......dunno if they would be ok outdoors?

Thank you Lou, I would like to try them I looked your 'Caspian Blue' up on the RHS site and it has been given an AGM and they say it is hardy, so should be OK outside.

The huge clump of Baptisia at Cambridge Botanic was at the end of an island bed, outside and not particularly sheltered.
