Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the birthday greetings which I have only just picked up - I have been absent for months due to ill health. I had a quiet day as I was recovering from my last chemo treatment so I have postponed any outings to celebrate until I feel better. I can't tell you how pleased I am to be over the worst and I really want to tackle my overgrown garden. I shall still need radiotherapy for 3 intensive weeks but then I hope to be free and get my life back. I am about to post re climbing annuals as I was given two obelisks for my birthday and I need some summer colour. I do have some passion flowers cutting which are far too small at present. I have to tell you – you have all made my day!! I feel better already. With love Lilliebxx

Lovely to hear from you Lillieb & hope you make a good recovery. When you get the rest of your treatment out of the way you'll be able to relax over the summer & watch your flowers grow up the obelisks. If you want fast results something like 'Morning Glory' would be great but for something more permanent you can't beat climbing roses or clematis. Take care. x

Thank you Rosie & Graham, and SueA for your messages much appreciated. I have planted some Morning Glory Sue and they have germinated in just 5 days! Also thanks to Ester I now have some Rhodochiton seedlings which are doing so well. Next I have to decide where to put the obelisks - the lovely forget-me-nots are covering the bed at present, they are also hiding the weeds thank goodness. I have been doing some much needed weeding recently I have ‘Sticky Willy’ everywhere but it is easy to pull up. Just heard that my radiotherapy will be extended to 6wks instead of 3 so I want to do as much as possible before I start that – it’s a 2hr round trip and the treatment can be tiring. Anyway it is just great to be back on here. Lilliebxx

I am sorry you are having treatment for a serious illness Lillieb. The garden will help with the healing process. It sounds as if it has helped already.
