I need some advice. I have been given two tomato plants that are in quite small pots and need to be repotted. Should i plant them in bigger pots and keep them indoors or should i plant them outside in the ground or outside in pots ? Thanks

Twiams, I am not an expert on tomatoes, but it would be handy to know what sort they are. The majority need to be potted on for greenhouse use. They may need to be repotted once more into large pots and supported with a cane to get the best fruiting from your tomatoes. Mine are now needing to go into their large pots ready for fruiting.

Pot on into slightly larger pots and finally plant into final positions when the first flowers appear. Tomatoes generally aren't hardy and even the so called outdoor types will be killed off by frost. However if you are in a WARM part of the country you may get away with planting outdoors if you can protect them from the worst of the weather. If you are not sure of variety try and find out first. My first ever tomatoes were planted outdoors and I hadn't a clue about them. They grew ok though but that was in Devon.

Thanks for all the help and info, I've got my hands on some nice big pots to give the tomatoes some more room while they grow and will be repotting them soon !
