ordered a couple of Scent from Heaven climbing roses for the front which arrived yesterday, they'll stay in their pots until I've had the retaining walls redone hopefully in 2/3 weeks

I bought some Heliopsis, lovely young plants. All potted up and growing away nicely. Decora (my fav GC) is closed but like others you can pay over the phone and they will deliver. Got a load of compost delivered a few days ago People may say that is not a garden centre Rosie, but it us also my favourite one in your area. Plants are in top condition and the staff are knowledgable (rare). Great tea and scones, and no outrageous prices, yet this is not big place. Beautiful, but not pretentious.

was really cross yesterday with Primrose, I ordered 3 pepper plants at the end of March, emailed in end of April to see where they were and was told middle of May delivery, still hadn't arrived yesterday, so emailed again to be told they had sold out and I'd have to have a refund, they could have let me know earlier now I'm hoping the garden centre might have some as it's too late to get seed going, I won't be using them again

That's not good is it grindle, I think understandably a lot of companies have been having problems fulfilling orders this year but they could let people know what's going on. I ordered 2 grow bags from Thompson Morgan in March & was told delivery would be the beginning of May, no sign & the date had been changed to w/c 1st June, still no sign & I went on my account with them & it said there was a delay & it would take up to another 14 days, fair enough but the annoying thing is they don't tell you any of this. My tomatoes are all waiting in tiny pots ready to go in their grow bags so everything is being held up.

Not good enough at all grindle , SueA and lesley
I went to B&M Bargain store today, there's a new one near here and it has a garden centre at the back. I bought some bedding Begonias, Busy Lizzies and Petunias. I'm not really fussed about them myself but Beryl liked them and for some reason I felt I had to buy them ... I don't know if that's daft or not ??

I found the best company was Dobies for plug plants, they kept you informed and the plants arrived in good condition. I gave up on T&M ages ago didn't find them reliable at all, another good one is the Southern Horticultural I've now had a few plants from them and they've all been good and pricewise are excellent. That's annoying about the compost SueA is there nowhere else you can get some from? No not daft at all Eli it's for her memory and such a lovely thought xx

It is lovely that you can look at the bedding plants Eli & think how pleased Beryl would be. I can get bags of compost locally grindle but grow bags seem to be in short supply & the ones I ordered from T&M are paid for, they make sure they get the money out of you first don't they! I ordered them when all the shops & garden centres first went into lockdown & they were a special offer for 2 but quite expensive with food included, I may end up having to get a couple of cheap bags of compost to use & try to get my money back from T&M. I ordered 6 sets of 40 bedding plant plugs online from a company I hadn't used before called Brookside Nursery & they were very good, tiny plants but well packed & healthy & they've all grown on nicely.

I'd be inclined to cancel the order SueA and get your money back, that's what I did in the end, it's just a pain, I know this is unusual times, but the big companies seem to have fallen down badly with customer service, I'll stick with the smaller ones in future

I might have to do that grindle, I'll see if I can contact them but I bet that will take until Christmas to get anything out of them.

Got a pot of dwarf agapanthus from Plumleys garden centre & 5 little alpine plants & some bird/hedgehog food from Fryers, bit weird with all the sanitising/social distancing & trying to follow arrows everywhere but it's the first time we've been since March.
