That is interesting Fractal. It looks as if you have planted it in a warm sheltered place.

We walked down to the little local garden centre in the park which is operated by people with learning disabilities yesterday. It's been open some of the time during the lockdowns for 'click & collect' a few times but now they've restocked & are open fully so we went for a look around, you have to wear masks outdoors as well there but the little cafe is open with outdoor seating & they now sell Dalefoot peat free compost & wool based seed compost & bulb compost so may give those a try. I bought a replacement rosemary plant for £3.99 & 3 alpines for £10, nice healthy looking plants.

More spuds, 'Nicola' probably plant them tomorrow. 20 tubers in bag so just about room for them. Also some onion sets, 'Centurion' On the shelf it said 'Sturon' which is what I often grow but on the label on the bag it said 'Centurion' Not bothered as long as I get some decent onions.

A disappointing day I went to one of my favourite garden centres in Llandeilo, only to find it had closed down gates chained up and the place totally void of plants Then I went to another nearby garden centre, only to find that half of it had been shut off, and the only plants they had were by the entrance gate
However, I did buy these two Nemesias :- And a pack of 6 Impatiens
Also recently bought are the following Osteospermums and Felicia :-

Many people will miss that garden centre grindle, they had such lovely plants and some very unusual ones too, and there were always lots of people there. The owners were very friendly, always asked about Beryl and after she died they always asked how I was feeling when I went there. You don't get many places like that.

I got to Dobbies garden center today ( not the well known Dobies ) bought some grow bags , seeds, ( they had a wonderful selection ) a nice selection of 11 begonia tubers and filled a bag with first early and 2nd early potatoes which were reduced. Then off to B&Q for more cheaper grow bags, a few reduced succulents and pots for my daughter and a large crow bar to break up the huge pallet my greenhouse came in several years ago. I loved looking at all the plants and shrubs but especially the expensive bedding plants , knowing that my greenhouse is full of them for a fraction of the cost.
