I would like to have said a lot more about Sir Roy Strong. I met him at Mattock's Roses which is now Notcutts near Oxford. The friend I was with went to school with the Mattock of the roses fame and we were introduced to him. I disliked Sir Roy Strong then for attracting attention like some prima donna and for his outlandish taste in clothes. Even then he had a stupid hairstyle and an entourage to make him appear popular.
However, I know you were not thinking about Sir Roy Strong, but the garden at No 10. I meant every word of it and I hope the residents can enjoy it as they wish.

Read it in store today Cherry & I think you made a very valid point about the no. 10 garden being a family garden. I didn't see the original comments by Roy Strong but get the gist of it from your letter. I wonder what he would think of the White House garden with Michelle Obama's great veg. patch & Bo the dog romping through it etc.!

He would be horrified and consider her tasteless Sue.
Michelle Obama called in to Mildenhall this week and I thought she looked great in a sort of tight track suit which was very sporty gear. This would not suit a lot of people.
