That was a lovely way to spend Mothers’ Day SueA. I enjoyed my overnight stay with my younger son and his partner and was able to work in their garden. I suppose this is my last outing for months now, but it was the shops which made life seem depressing. I am missing yoga and choir, but will soon be looking after a small dog while it’s owner is in hospital. I think it would be best not to take the cage/bed which may be harbouring germs. My son’s partner, the vet, has said this would be alright (of course, washing hands as we all know). I would need to wash after each time that I touch the lead as she does at work. They are only taking urgent cases in to the vet now.

I had to take Dylan for his post op check and our vet is asking that we phone from the car park on arrival, which I did, she did his check while we were out there as it was just a case of seeing that he was healing ok, they are trying to keep people traffic inside to a minimum. We've now had to call time on our garden club shed, we did try to stay open, but in the light of Boris's latest statement, thought it was the only course to take, hopefully we will open again in the near future.
Talking of the weekend, self isolation isn't really getting through to a lot of people, judging by the amount of visitors to Dartmoor and coastal towns, I wonder what it will take for ******* to get the message and stop spreading it far and wide

I hope Dylan is all right grindle ...
Glad you enjoyed working in your son's garden Cherry , and also that you decided to stay here. It's best not to travel now. That's kind of you to look after the small dog. It's owner will not have to worry while she is in hospital.
I was pruning some Clematises yesterday and cut my finger with the secateurs ! so I had to stop. I'm going to carry on today (hopefully) We were supposed to be burying Beryl's ashes today but the undertaker has a cough and temperature so it has been postponed.
I hope your hospital appointment will be rescheduled as soon as possible sweetpea … it must be worrying for you. My dental appt has been moved forward to September (not urgent, just a check up)

sorry I didn't post anything, he had a growth on his lower eyelid which had to be removed, everything went well up until last night, when he managed to somehow get the 'lampshade' undone and came in, his eye was bleeding, I'm waiting until later so I can have a good look at it, might mean another vet visit today, I've now taped it together so he can't undo it. Thanks for your concern everyone

Aww poor Dylan, I bet his eye was itchy with the stitches & he's rubbed it with his paw when he got the 'lampshade' off.

Oh How awful for him. I hope it can be fixed and that he'll be better soon. It must be very uncomfortable with a thing like that around your head all the time

I saw a cartoon of two dogs saying to one another that their human had this lampshade on to stop him touching his face.
So pleased really that Dylan has something curable, but uncomfortable.

well he's made a real mess of it, the vet took him inside and cleaned it up, he's now on antibiotics and I have to take him back Saturday morning to have it redone, this time I'm going to tape it up so it won't open again. They will do a good job and are very caring, luckily it is a veterinary hospital, at the moment all the visits are done in the carpark, the vet then takes them into the surgery if it's needed
