That's true. They might last longer than I think! Poor Mark didn't come yesterday, as he tripped over on Thursday and fell flat on his back. He decided he'd take a three-day break which might help him recover, because his back hurt. The wall is coming on well, albeit rather slowly - it's a huge project! OH will have to modify the side fence to allow access very soon. Up to now, Mark has left a gap where the niche is, but he needs to build that up next.

I've been away for quite some time and sorry if I missed a lot of birthdays. I am teaching a few classes at a local college and taking our young labs to a basic obedience training.

There is no end to your talents Jrae. Are you giving up your gorgeous town house and farm to go to New Zealand. You certainly can grow dahlias there and we used to get our sweet pea seeds from New Zealand. I don't know if they still do that. Which part are you interested in?

How do the indigenous tribes like that? Do they mind being observed?

My hubby was informed that he will be assigned to his company's offices in NZ for 5 years or so. If the schools are better there we might stay indefinitely until the kids finish college. We'll be moving late next year.

How do the indigenous tribes like that? Do they mind being observed? they're actually quite modern compared to when they were first "discovered" around 30 years ago, Geranium. Nowadays all they do when students come over is to show them their age old agricultural practices, herbal remedies and folk dances and songs and weaving skills

Oh, I see - it's more of a 'show' than watching them going about their normal day's work. I should have realised that things move on. I expect they're using modern technology now, aren't they?

Yes, they've one of my students even emailed me that the "natives" are using smartphones like the ones my students had However the kids were sent to live in the old houses "communal huts" with no electricity so they know what it was like back then. I guess they aren't too pleased...
