These are nurseries that i buy from online, the service from all of them is extremely good. I use small, sometimes specialist nurseries for a lot of my perennials and alpines and i thought i’d list my favourites. It’s always interesting to see what they have instock and their packaging and delivery is good too. 1. Worlds End nursery in Worcester 2. Special Perrenials in Cheshire 3. Chailey Irises in Sussex 4. Viv Marsh Alstromerias in Shropshire 5. Westcountry Nurseries in Devon 6. Pottertons (alpines) in Lincoln 7. Larch Cottage 8. Beth Chatto nursery in Essex I’ve had bad experiences with Long Acre in Somerset. Also GardeningExpress.co.uk (them i wouldn't touch with a barge-pole)

Seaburn had Bob Brown from Cgf at her hardy plant society meeting as a speaker - she was very impressed! It's worth getting their catalogue - it hasn't got photos, but I drool over it! ;D

Hiya Louise, I buy from Worlds End garden nursery too, the size of the plants are excellent, 2ltr and 3lt pots, at a reasonable price, really good friendly service and knowledgeable too I tried a couple of others on your list, one of them sent me three mislabeled plants

We had an interesting speaker at our Garden Club last night, a chap called Tim Fuller who owns The Plantsman's Preference Nursery in South Lopham, Nr Diss (www.plantpref.co.uk). They keep over 600 varieties of perennial geraniums, and have at least 250 varieties for sale each year, as well as other perennials and shrubs. He brought plants for sale, all of which looked in very good condition (I bought Anthriscus sylvestris 'Ravenswing' a purple leafed cow parsley for £3 and Corydalis 'Berry Exciting', golden foliage and fragrant purple flowers for £4.50). He also keeps a good selection of grasses and sedges. His website is well worth a look ;D
Cherry, as this is fairly near you, have you ever visited the nursery?

Bob is a real hands on gardener and a wonderful speaker.

I also had mixed experience with Garden express but after a polite couple of phone calls they resolved it for me.
Parkers on the whole have been 90% brill and again after a phone call replaced the damaged plants with some free bulbs included.

I don't know them Peony, but I am going to Didlington Nursery shortly. The plants here are very cheap and there are some cracking good ones too. I have only learned of this nursery recently and it is very close to here.

I think it must have been one of those very rare blips because i've always been very pleased with all of them - and i'm highly critical of things

Sorry, that should be two plants and not three, dont want to make it look worse! One was a Dierama, I only noticed when it flowered! The other a fern. It was Beeches, but I have to say in their defence that, I was offered a refund straight away! Also the plants were in excellent condition, they were a good size too. So it's more label thing than the actual plants!
