Not done anything today except for going to the greenhouse to see if anything needed watering.Rosemary isn't very well. I,m not so bad but I,m not my usual self and I don't feel like doing much so we are staying in for a few days. I originally intended going to school this afternoon but I didn't feel like it.

Today I have thinned the parsnip seedlings in the tubes to one per tube.I have also finished pricking out the lobelia .Even though I have not as much as usual, I am always glad when it's done because its a fiddly job.

Yesterday, I had an email from Suttons to say that lot of the plug plants I had ordered had been dispatched. However, when the Royal Mail van arrived with a parcel for me today, it wasn't from Suttons. It was my coleus that I had ordered from Dibleys so Suttons will probably come tomorrow.I potted the coleus into 3 inch pots.

The plug plants from Suttons that I was expecting arrived today. 150 Petunia "select", 150 Begonia "ambassador" and 50 Gazania "daybreak". Transferred most of them to cell trays but didn't have time to do them all.

Today I have finished planting the plug plants . I am still short of some basket plants, particularly surfinias. My local garden centre is not likely to have any this year so I ordered a collection from Garden News.

Hi Derek, I have finally come back on the forum after a long break. I had a bad back problem last year and didn't do any growing, just 1 competition and then couldn't manage anything after 5th August until 3 weeks ago. Tonight I have been re reading your getting started on the allotment book to remind myself of a few things now I have my growing mojo back.
I have just read your posts for this season. I sincerely hope Rosemary is feeling better now too. Take care

Hi Cat I'm really glad you are back and feeling better Today I made a list of my dahlias and how many of each variety I have potted. I have more than enough of most varieties. I still had a lot of rooted cuttings ready for potting today. I normally sell my surplus plants at the hut or on a plant stall at church in June. However,I can't do either of these this year so I just potted a few varieties that I may be short of and discarded the rest.

Today, I have started potting chrysanths from 3 inch pots into 5 inch that were ready for doing and putting them in a frame. Those that weren't ready for potting on have gone into different frame because I need the space in the greenhouse. I have also pricked out another two boxes of calendulas.
