I had to take Rosemary to hospital this morning . She didn't feel like going anywhere this afternoon so I went on the allotment and carried on weeding the runner bean/ sweet pea bed that I started last time I went.

I have been on my allotment this morning and again this afternoon until it started raining about 3.30. Apart from picking some more sprouts I have just been weeding. I finished doing the runner bean /sweet pea bed and the path behind it, then did the spray chrysanth bed .I started doing one of the annual beds but hadn't got far when it started raining.

It was raining this morning so I decided to work under the carport and wash my seed trays in my wheelbarrow. I hadn't much time this afternoon because we had some visitors .It did stop raining but I carried on washing the trays because I wanted to get them all done. All those I have done are standard seed trays but I still have the half trays to do.

it has been fine today so this morning I pruned the floribunda roses in the front garden. I didn't have a full afternoon but I went on the allotment. We needed some sprouts for tomorrow so I got those first and then carried on with weeding where I was doing last time.

Merry Christmas to you all. Christmas day is the only day when I never do any gardening except opening and closing the greenhouse doors. Martyn slept at our house last night and has been here most of the day and has just gone home but he is coming back later and sleeping here again. He has brought a plant that he wants me to put in a bigger pot so I will do it tomorrow before he goes home.

There was no service at our church this morning but there was a Circuit service on U Tube so we watched that. We then went out for a meal with Martyn. This afternoon I just had time to pot his plant, which I think is a Yucca, into a larger pot and do some tidying up in the garden. He has been to our house this evening and we have played games. We normally go to Heather's in Wales for New Year but we are not going this time because Rosemary isn't well enough but Martyn is going on Tuesday till Sunday. So tomorrow, it is back to "normal" for us.

It has been dry today and this morning I had a bit of time in the garden. I decided to start weeding the border round the back lawn and did about half of one side. As you know, I often take Rosemary a walk in the afternoon but she didn't feel like it today. Therefore, because I could have a full afternoon gardening, I decided to go on the allotment and carry on with the weeding there, rather than carry on with what I was doing this morning at home. I finished weeding the path I was doing last time then did one of the annual beds and half of the other one.

It rained hard till mid morning so it was too wet to carry on with the weeding. Hadn't much time in the morning but I transferred some more plants back into the propagating greenhouse, tidying each one up first. We went shopping this afternoon and when we got home I washed all my half trays under the car port.

Today, like yesterday, it rained till mid morning so I worked under the car port again. When I washed my standard seed trays last Thursday, there were still about 12 in the greenhouse with plants in them stood in pots.I put all these plamts in clean trays and washed the others so all my trays are washed now. I also washed all the tomato pots from school, 34 of them. This afternoon I took Rosemary a walk in her wheelchair. When we got home I washed all the pieces of glass that go on top of the seed trays when I have sown the seeds. Did them in the kitchen sink.

The weather today has been the opposite to the last two days. It was fine this morning but has rained the rest of the day. This morning I fixed a new shelf bracket in my propagating greenhouse .There was nothing on the shelf but it would have collapsed when I put something on. This afternoon , because it was raining , I decided to start washing all my pots . I normally do them at the kitchen sink but today , because the weather is mild I decided to work under the carport in the wheelbarrow. I did all the small yoghurt pots.

Not much gardening time today. We went shopping this morning and I had to take Rosemary to the audiologist this afternoon. Went to the allotment when we got home because she wanted some sprouts. While I was there I decided to remove the nets from the brassica bed which were to keep butterflies off because they are no longer needed.

A happy New Year to you all!. A dry day today and I went to Blackleach this afternoon to do the bird count. I didn't have much time this morning but I washed a few more pots and did a few more when I got home this afternoon.

I think I have told you before that I only have my bird table in use in the winter . I fix it up one one of the borders alongside the back lawn but I have to move it in spring to plant the border with summer plants. I just hide it away in some bushes . When I was putting it away this spring ,the platform and roof fell apart. It is, of course, time to start using it again so this morning I brought it out and put it under the car port and had a go at repairing it. After about an hour I decided that it was too big a job and gave it up. My son, Martyn, bought me some National garden centre gift tokens for Christmas. My local garden centre doesn't take these but this afternoon we went to one that does, a bit further away and guess what I spent them on. YES ,a new bird table!.
