It is starting to look really good. Gardening this rotovated area will be a breeze from now on. Sorry about the chipped pane. I don't think a woman would have that sort of an accident. This comment is very sexist, but I believe it. I agree Cherry, if I had of done it I would have broken the blade of the Rotavator smashed the whole greenhouse.

I left my Happy Halloween and Downham Royals out last night (except my baby rooted cuttings) I didn't think that it had particularly windy but it has torn one of the leaves. Almost looks like it had been ripped. I can't keep them in the greenhouse or I will never have enough room for me to put down the grow bags for my tomatoes.

Next door (on the non-mutant overhang side) have been cutting down branches on our tree. I was walking back out woman with a mission to do some more slab moving, aggregate shovelling and photo chilli plant'in, saw what was happening and then squirrelled back inside. We didn't plant the tree, they have trimmed it in the past but now another branch has grown and overhang their swimming pool. It looks much nicer now and the good news is we can cut back their tree that over hangs onto our garden. It will be great because we should be able to fit the replacement fence panel which is all painted and ready to go. We will just wait until after they have gone out because we don't like having an audience.
The tree looks a lot better and they didn't smash the greenhouse (nb I haven't checked only downside is that it means that they are going to start using their swimming pool, which is the other side of the greenhouse and my dahlias.
Oh well.

There is some law that says you are allowed to do this but you are obliged to give what you have cut off back to the neighbour if they wanted it....like for instance if it was an apple tree full of fruit

I don't mind either way. We can cut theirs back a bit without having to worry about it and they will be happy for us to put up the new fence because a, it will look better than a fence panel propped up and b, their dog won't get into our garden.
Mutually benefit. Be glad when we get it done though.
The other side well I can't ever imagine that getting trimmed...

They are very healthy plants. I had to buy chillies this week for the first time in three years. I keep them in the freezer and had to let some plants go when I went on my extended holiday late last year.

Garden is getting exciting. If I look closely I can see flower buds opening. I don't know how long it takes for roses to open fully but I am not expecting anything in time for the show. It is not next week but the week after next.

My Zepherine Drouhin is open now but I had to spray with roseclear as quite a lot of greenfly on buds. Some of my single flowered roses are open too. I think it is to do with where in the country you are. Here where I am the climate is much like Cornwall.

Mary's Jomanda is getting there. I am very happy to report that when I asked HH if this was one of the dahlias that he thought was boring he said 'No'. I am very happy about that. He said that it was the dahlias that my Dad likes that he thinks are boring. I said No you don't think the ones Dad likes the most are the boring ones because he likes the spiky ones and you've told me that you like the spikey ones. 'Oh' he replied.
Dad threw me on Wednesday (not literally). He asked me what I wanted to do with the Downham Royals out the front. I just looked at him blankly. Do you want them to show or because you want the flowers? Do you want them for the flowers?
In my defence it had been a work day and I was tired. When the penny dropped I told him no not really, I just want them for the flowers. (Mum smiled) I just want to show them off because I think they are lovely and I am proud of them. (Mum smiled). I was then told that if I don't want them for the show I can stop them soon. I'll get the flowers sooner but they won't be the right size for a show.
Don't care about the show I just can't wait to see them again after well over 20 years.

How are your strawberries doing Sweetpea? I have got some baby green ones but Fairy Pink Wellies has some that have grown more and are white. I am looking forward to them being able to pick their very own strawberries.
