Hi Moonlight, Just had a read through some of your posts and found them very amusing... you have a lovely way of expressing things and I do love using the emoticons as well, they say more than words, don't they? Love your dahlia too even though it may be too small for the show. They have such a lovely range of colours and sizes. Never been a fav of mine..don't like the earwigs that come with them. Hope you did well at the show.

It has not been very good time for me internet is very erratic right now. Sometimes the page won't load, other times the home page loads a forum that I click on doesn't load, sometimes I think I am going to be lucky and get a thread to load and then that dies. etc. so you can appreciate my frustrations. I have popped in here whenever I can but it has been very difficult. I've also been very tired. Fallen asleep a couple of times thus far just typing this. I'll type more in a bit if I can stay awake.

If you recall I had many problems with my PC all of which appear to have been solved by changing my browser fom IE to Firefox. I'm not saying this is a cure all but in my case it definately made a difference and the computer was reprieved from being flung out the window.

Wondered where you had got too. other people had a chance to get a word in edgeways? Sweetpea totally agree with you.
Went away for a week and was ill. Got a bit better then HH got it even worse. Came home and last night started feeling sick again. and then was. Again.

1 pirate, 4 jomanda, 1 (dodgy looking) ruskin bride, 6 gurta twilight and then last but not least 2 Downham Royals. Are sitting pretty out of the rain and wind. I'm not sitting pretty, flat out on my bed trying to catch my breath. Feel like I have been winded by a punch on either rib.

The weather is diabolical and HH is really stressed out about getting them there without the tins falling over. Fingers crossed that they don't smash in the wind and that there are not any speed bumps on route.I'm amazed got this far, if they fall they fall main thing is we try our best.If they do fall then it will be live and learn for next week.

I am going to put the photos on the Dahlia thread but I got a 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I also got a NAS because my Weston Pirate which I measured this morning as being ok through the rings, decided to grow a bit, I double checked afterwards and was too large. It's a shame because it (in my opinion) beat the pants off of the other 2 entries but at the end of the day, they were the right size and mine was too big.
I think deep down I'm a semi/ cactus kind of woman, so it is ironic that I won with my vase of 3 ( and beat my Dad 3rd) Jomanda and my 2nd and 3rd were with Gurtla Twilight. Funnily enough I had made a deal with myself (might sound really cocky) but if I didn't get placed with my poms, I wasn't going to bother growing them next year.... Oh. Firm believer in what is meant to be will happen but I really like the poms with a deeper / stronger colour. My Willow's Violets were either not good enough or too big and not evenly shaded, so although I prefer the Willow's Violet my Gurtla Twilight were better, so I took those. Nearly all were Gurtla Twilight but there was a vase of a lovely deep purple and a beautiful bright yellow. So next year I will be growing Lismore Moonlight and Moorplace.
Going to stop now. Still not 100% but I wanted to do a mini update.

I'm so sorry you've been unwell, but many congratulations on your success at the show! You deserve it.

Well done Moonlight, your Dad must be very proud of his girl. Not only growing dahlia's like your Dad, but also successful on the show bench like Dad.
