I've been shopping, ordered 2 parcels of chicken legs from America, not something you would expect to read from a Vegetarian!

Just been to my local horticultural shop. Bought 20 bags of Vermiculite I think that they are 5grams each. (Well alternatively image 2 bin bags with 10 bags of Vermiculite in each.)
+ 3 tubs.
Why do you need that much Vermiculite?
"Insulation" said I.
Didn't elaborate in case they laughed at me.

Don't really know what to do with my tubers.
Weather not good here and it is getting worse. Just think that I am going to just go for it. Just wish I had had a chance to talk to my Dad before this. I hope that the frost last night didn't kill them. They only had newspaper on them. I'd have given them a towel duvet if I had of known.

1 tuber is going to go on an adventure. Trouble is whilst not frozen solid and no obvious signs of having recently been frozen solid. The soil that was supporting the roots in now firm which from my understanding is a good think from Dad but now Tommy tuber needs to go on a bit of a soil diet. He is currently sitting on my upside down picnic blanket with the hope that some of the soil will dry enough to crumble away. A bit.
He needs to hurry a bit, it doesn't make a particularly attractive centre piece in the lounge and I know that HH won't be impressed. Still won't be for long he has a lorry to catch.

My ground tubers are in the unheated greenhouse on the allotment. They are wrapped in 5 layers of fleece. so unless we get a winter like we had when we had temps down to -20 they should be ok. My tubers still have a lot of soil on them, I find it stops them from shriveling up.

Moonlight, your tubers are in the greenhouse aren't they? My whole two tubers are in the unheated greenhouse, still drying out enough to wrap and box them for bringing into the pantry.

Feeling Silly Today.
Sneak in a new family member into the house and what do you get someone new trying to hog the remote!
Said I was feeling silly.

Rescued a very big fat worm from the tuber. Relocated to the dahlia patch. Put an upside down seed tray on top to give him a fighting chance to escape.

Bought some more vermiculite - bought a sack this time. Same quantity just in a sack.
If I end up having to use 1 tube per tuber I am going to need about well erm... going to stop there now. Don't want to do the maths.
Well my little traveller has a lot less covering now, so it is getting lighter and equally important smaller. I've yet to find a suitable vehicle for his ride off into the big wide world. The weather is in theory supposed to be better this week.
Also trying to get some bubble wrap for the greenhouse. Nice bit of insulation I am sure will help. Well it should do. Heated greenhouse isn't an option for me but I am happy to have a go with the bubble wrap.
