I thought you might like to see the baby jacket I've made for the O.H.'s sister's first grandchild who is due today but is kicking her heels & hasn't arrived yet (they know it's a girl). I haven't crocheted anything for years, probably 20 or more, & have spent the last week or so unpicking this several times! ;D It's actually my second attempt at the pattern, I tried the newborn size with different wool but it must have been too fine a ply as it turned out so small it wouldn't have fit a Barbie doll ;D, so I decided to do 3-6 months in a chunkier wool. It's nothing like the lovely creations we've seen from Esther, Ladybird & Lou etc. on here but I tried! ;D Front Back

That looks lovely Sue. That hand made item for the baby is something personal, in this throw away society we live in today.

Thank you all for indulging me, I know it's not exactly the Bayeux Tapestry but it took me nearly as long! ;D I did try to start knitting a baby bonnet first but I'm even worse at knitting & the pattern had some abbreviations I'd never heard of so I gave up eventually! ;D I've been encouarged a bit now though & may try to crochet something else - best make it something to fit a one year old by the time I finish! ;D No sign of the baby yet.
