A relatively fine day - if you were to ignore the cold strong wind but it couldn't be ignored! We did have a few brief showers & I got half caught in one just after 1pm! I half caught because it happened to happen just as the bus I was waiting for, to take me to the hospital, to the ENG clinic because of a problem with my hearing aids, arrived so I just made a quick dash - no time to open umbrellas! 20 minutes later it was still spitting rather but while there it cleared away. We had some cloud during the afternoon but at least the strong cold wind had abated!
I went out onto the balcony about 8.30pm to see the ISS pass over again but the flyby was much longer than usual & I felt quite cold while standing there looking up at the sky for more than 5 mins! But at least the clear skies let me see some of the stars & constellations that I recognize!
Temps today have been around 12C I believe but the wind chill made it feel like half that! In fact we have 7C at present, 10pm, & that is how they are going to stay. Tomorrow we are forecast a colder day than today with a max of only 10C! Most of the day temps will be in single figures. Are we returning to winter or what?

I don't often post in this thread, the weather is usually mundane, but it's the middle of the night and I can't sleep (nothing unusual in that ...) so I went to make a cup of tea and saw that the place is white with snow. That's the first snow I've seen for several years, and it's reminded me of how horrible it is and how much I hate it
Bella wasn't impressed by it either ...

Oh no, Eli! It snowed a couple of days ago in my wife's town in Spain as well. A cousin of my wife is spending a week there & sent me a shout video of the snow falling. Our son who lives in the same town send us a video of the hailstorm they were having as well. I haven't looked out the window yet but although it's very bright I don't think we have had any, though during the night I woke up and heard it was raining.

Oh Eli ..I loooooove snow, but only when it's nice and freshly fallen. We have a truly awful day down here, it's so dark we have the indoor lights on. Heavy rain and gales are blowing across the garden...gone is all the Spring Blossom. We have a weather warning for today...the wind should peak at around 3pm with a speed of 60mph.

Sunny and windy and picked up almost the last of the oak leaves before light rain yesterday.
Sunny but now the clouds are rearranging to cover the sky.

Good morning all. Good Friday has got off to a quiet start after the wild weather of yesterday evening! Around 7pm the wind started to get up and then the rain began. It soon became a vendaval with heavy rain being blown almost horizontally. It lasted perhaps 20 minutes but didn't really come to an end for an hour. It's pretty unusual for us to get such wild weather.
The temps at 6am are around 8C going up to a max of 13C. Though the day has begun with lots of cloud cover we are forecast sunny periods, clouds & showers, possibly thundery with hail.

We had a rough morning yesterday but the sun came out in the afternoon, and although it was bitterly cold the snow had disappeared. If I never see it again I'll be happy

a sunny morning yesterday but a very laxy cold wind [lazy as it goes straight through rather than going the long way around you]. Rained and blowing a gale all evening and into the night. the morning has dawned clear and sunny but decidedly chill.
It often snows at Easter. 1983 it snowed on the evening of April 2nd and left 2" of the stuff. Why do I remember it? It was our wedding day. We even had a clap of thunder during the part of the vows 'if any one knows any just reason ....' the vicar just laughed and said we'll ignore Him and carried on.

Phew what a day yesterday was! The rain and gails lasted all day long and only began easing at around 9pm. We had to dash out and battle the 60mph winds and attempt to stake up a tree and a big shrub. We had roof tiles dislodged and the covers on our caravan ripped .
Today is thankfully alot calmer but rain and maybe even thunder are with us today.
