Anyone ever planted sweet peas in a hanging basket?
Or is just me with one of my more dense 'bright ideas'? nb I have not planted any thing yet, the seeds that I have already sown are not for that.

I have moonlight, some years ago they were small ones. they growa bit down and then turn up again. I also put a few seeds of night sented stock in all baskets and pots to get that secret "whiff " about the garden in the evening

If you prefer trailing plants in basket the 1/2 tall or knee size sweetpeas would be ok. eg knee high and jet set i f they are still available. For the short bushy type baskets the T & M one sounds ok as are snoopea and cupid. i don't grow sweetpeas in baskets but have used them in containers. Too much work for me

I've got my dwarf / trailing sweetpeas, empty basket with their name on it but why too much hard work?
I want to know if I am making a big mistake before I plant them.

Baskets need watering EVERY day, sometimes twice if hot weather. SPs don't like drying out a bit like lobelia in that way. I have used the dwarfer sorts in containers where there is a deeper root run with good results. nothing ventured nothing gained though.

Not done my hanging baskets yet. Just as well, they would have blown into next door by now with this wind.
