This is all happening at exactly the right time Geranium, so you appear to be well on target.

Dug out some overgrown Bergenia which didn't flower last year, potted up a few bits and planted out some Heucheras I grew from seed saved last year to replace it. Also planted 5 Monardas grown from plugs bought last year. Had to dig out some self-seeded primroses to make room, so have potted them up for our Garden Club plant sale. Also took some cuttings from a pink Chrysanthemum.

I planted a climbing rose, Zeph D, next to a ribes(which i heartily dislike) so it can grow through it in the summer and i weeded the big flower bed.

I worked myself to a stand still yesterday, and the whole of the 'ex-pear tree area' is now de-rooted, de-stoned, dug over, manured, raked and ready for planting. ;D I also cleared some perennial stems, weeded, and prepared the ground round one of my obelisks ready for planting my sweetpeas. I had the greenhouse doors open all day. OH cut back the ornamental grasses and burnt them, and I balanced precariously along the edge of the stream and heaved out most of the Montbretia leaves. I can't call them 'Crocosmia' because they're the ordinary orange ones that spread!

Yes, in the side garden, up on the raised area towards the back. It's next to the farm field, which explains the brambles, nettles and bindweed in that area.
I had an e-mail from Burncoose - the two shrubs are coming this afternoon , and we collect the trees tomorrow! I'll be able to plant it all up (weather permitting) on Friday/Saturday. ;D

started weeding and ended up digging out the Inula as it had 'walked' far to far, I will put it somewhere with more room. Moved my little Mahonia gracilipes as it was getting crowded out. Tried to dig out the wandering roots of rubus olympic double, I think I'll be taking it out as it's getting far too 'thugish' and I'm sure I can find something nicer to go in its place. Pulled out a dead shrub, pruned back a viburnum opulus. This area has become one of Dylan's shortcuts and everything gets flattened so I'm now trying to think of a way to block his path

I wonder what happened to Edwn's post? I didn't manage much in the garden because of everything happening indoors, but I did unpack the two shrubs that arrived from Burncoose, and took them over to their new' home'. I placed the shrubs I have, leaving room for the two trees we're collecting today. There's lots of empty space, and I shall move a few over-crowded shrubs from elsewhere. I can't see my Rubus, Grindle - I think it must have died. I might try again - the flowers were so pretty!

they are pretty shame it likes the spot it's in too much, I might try and move it to the top of the garden, but I suspect it's too big judging by the offshoots

I can look, if I find a piece with a good root, I'll let you know, it will probably be the weekend now
