I did some general tidying and dead heading. I put several tubs and pots in the cold frames to save them from too much rain tomorrow. Took a few cuttings - Indigofera, Cistus, and Box. I don't know if the Indigofera will catch. I've never tried cuttings of it before.

Thank you all, its great being home at least I can look at the garden. For the next few days it's good for the garden more rain expected.
At least I have a small Terrascape close to me only 20cm away.

Had a session in my Dad's garden, having a general tidy up of things. Later , back home, I did some dead heading and checked the stakes on plants and also added several new ones to some of the vulnerable ones as we are in for some more bad weather today having had a weather warning issued for today....more battered plants! What a summer!

I cut up a huge teasel plant which had blown over in the wind, it had finished flowering but I was going to leave the seedheads for the birds as it was fairly out of the way by the shed but gave up on it. Picked a lovely cucumber & emptied a small tub of Colleen potatoes for tea.

Managed to get some deadheading done and watering, despite it being pretty windy. Shame really as it is quite warm and sunny out there....

I've been spending the last couple of months raising the level of the ground here, yours truly lifting, shovelling and raking various garden 'aggregates', yesterday I was tittivating - things no-one else notices but to us are glaringly obvious ! Today i'll be pruning overhanging branches from neighbouring trees

Wow, lovely harvest there grindle !! Started to make a few alterations to the planting schemes, my task for this winter is to rethink most of the borders and research into more appropriate plants due to our changing climate. I am a little disappointed at the garden this year, it's sad when you put so much work into raising plants to end up not really happy with your achievements. Made a start on the two beds on the east patio. Pulled up most of what either wasn't working or had past it's best . Have added more Hellebores and Heucheras and have rehomed some more self seeded Primroses there too. The bed has already got a fair few of these plants but I have decided to group them altogether......for impact, hopefully! . There are a few other plants in the mix as well, London Pride, Snakes Head, Daffs. The borders aren't that big so it's a trial area for me because up until now I'm ashamed to admit my gardening techniques are a bit lax and I tend to put plants in any available space without paying much consideration to their individual needs. I must amend the errors of my ways! That's this winter's aim.....might not happen but I will try my best, already gathered my reading matter and just waiting now for the long dark winter evenings so as to snuggle in and get researching and planning....I am now actually looking forward to winter!!

That's what I was thinking about my garden too jellibeans , it needs a total reorganisation. Like you I seem to plant things wherever I find room so I end up with 'chaos' instead of 'organised chaos' ! I am in the middle of making a list of plants I will have to move and where I'm going to move them to. I hope to do some of it in the autumn and the rest in the early spring. Good luck !
I only watered my tomatoes and peppers yesterday.

What are we like Eli!!! Every year I promise my poor plants I will be more considerate but always end up panic planting and putting them in any available space I can find!. Definitely chaos planting here but I always manage to convince myself ( and everyone else ) that it's my chosen style!!! ( not!!!)

Yesterday the sun was out and I allowed myself to have a look at the garden. I took a few photos of the flowering Jonquils.
